Energy-efficient cooling systems with inverter technology

Universa cooling thermostats are available in three performance classes. The economical entry-level variant Universa ECO offers 200 W cooling capacity with a working temperature range of -30 to 100 °C (available from Q4/2025). Universa PRO for professional temperature control covers a working temperature range of -45 to 200 °C with a cooling capacity of 0.2 to 0.8 kW. As the high-end solution and most powerful variant, Universa MAX offers up to 1.6 kW cooling capacity with a working temperature range of -90 to 300 °C. For the control heads, bath bases with a filling volume of 4 to 40 liters are available.

The chillers are available as single-stage and cascade versions. Thanks to the interchangeable control head and the combinable heating/cooling base, LAUDA Universa devices can be flexibly adapted to changing requirements and areas of application. The adaptive bath edge ventilation (patented) of LAUDA Universa cooling thermostats prevents icing and condensation, stops water ingress and blocks vapors to protect the electronics. This innovation significantly increases the operational safety and service life of the appliances.

All Universa devices are equipped with USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi interfaces as standard. The most powerful models use speed-controlled inverter compressors with electronic expansion valves and adjustable fans. This technology increases energy efficiency by up to 78 percent while significantly reducing operating costs. At the same time, it ensures a longer service life, dynamic start-up of the set temperature and quieter operation.

Working range

The Universa PRO and Universa MAX cooling thermostats are equipped with a bath cover and pump connections as standard. A drain valve on the front of the device behind the ventilation grid makes it easier to change the temperature control fluid safely.
