LAUDA DR. R. WOBSER GMBH & CO. KG announces that Dr. Mario Englert, Managing Director/CFO, concluded his operational role at LAUDA on September 30, 2026, in order to take on new professional challenges. Commercial responsibility passed to Stefan Maier as the new CFO on October 1, 2026.
Dr. Mario Englert joined on October 1, 2017, initially assuming responsibility for the foreign subsidiaries as Managing Director of the holding company. As early as July 1, 2018, the graduate business economist with a doctorate moved to the management board of the parent company, where he was responsible for the Finance and Information Technology divisions, and additionally for Human Resources from March 1, 2022. During this time, he played a decisive role in shaping the development of the world market leader – including the redesign of the flows of goods and information in the GOAL project, the acquisition of the former GFL Gesellschaft für Labortechnik mbH in Burgwedel, the Drive250 strategy project as well as numerous digitalization initiatives. A particular success in 2025 was the ‘Best of AI’ award from Capital magazine for the introduction of the GenAI platform LAUDA.GPT together with the Munich-based start-up meinGPT.
Dr. Gunther Wobser, President & CEO of LAUDA, pays tribute to the achievements of the graduate business economist with a doctorate: “Over many years, we have worked together in a spirit of trust and with great success – particularly during the challenging past three years. In Stefan Maier, LAUDA has gained an experienced finance expert. The 55-year-old graduate economist has held management positions at medium-sized industrial companies, including in drive technology as well as in machinery and plant engineering for the pharmaceutical, food and packaging industries. There, he was consistently responsible for Finance and Controlling and, for many years, additionally for the Human Resources and Information Technology divisions.
To ensure an orderly handover, Stefan Maier already started on September 1, 2026, and was familiarized with his areas of responsibility. Together with Sandra Braun (Director Human Resources), Werner Kilb (Director Finance) and Dr. Felix Oberdorf (Director Information Technology & Digitalization), he will ensure the continued development of these important divisions. He reports directly to President & CEO Dr. Gunther Wobser.
As of October 1, 2026, the management of LAUDA comprises Dr. Gunther Wobser (President & CEO) and Dr. Marc Stricker (Managing Director/COO). Together with Stefan Maier and the management circle, they lead the family-owned company and continue to develop the corporate strategy in a targeted manner. With a sales target of 108 million euros for the current financial year, the family-owned company is currently back on a growth track as planned. In its 70th anniversary year, LAUDA has thus established a solid foundation for further expanding its position as the world market leader for constant temperature equipment and systems.
