Temperature simulations and temperature-dependent material tests are an important component in the aerospace industry. Cyclic temperature stress tests ensure that a trouble-free usage of the components used is always ensured, even under extremely fluctuating external conditions in space.

MATERIAL TESTING

Before they are installed in aircraft, satellites, rockets, or other applications, all materials are subjected to rigorous and very thorough testing. This includes testing them for thermal stability, expansion and contraction, and more. Extreme temperature fluctuations that can alter the material are a key aspect of the environmental conditions that man-made high technology must be able to withstand in space and the higher layers of Earth's atmosphere. Circulation and process thermostats or Proline cryomats from LAUDA can be used for the various tests on Earth.

TEMPERATURE SIMULATION / ENVIRONMENTAL SIMULATION / VACUUM CHAMBER

Vacuum chambers and temperature simulations allow components to be tested under near-space conditions. This places high technical demands, as thermostats must perform at peak levels and allow for an extremely wide temperature spectrum. Depending on the destination of the parts, they may later be exposed to temperature fluctuations in space ranging from well over 100 to below -200 °C. To ensure that these extremes do not lead to failures in later use, any components intended for space are subjected to environmental simulations during development and production. Process thermostats from LAUDA, such as the Integral XT, make this possible.
