100th Birthday of Company Founder Dr Rudolf Wobser
16th January 2011 was the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of Dr Rudolf Wobser, the founder of temperature control specialist LAUDA. The name of this brilliant inventor and designer is inextricably linked with the history of the town of Lauda – now Lauda-Königshofen. As a businessman, this native of Saxony made the railway town home to the then measuring instrument factory of LAUDA, which bears the same name as the town and now, after 50 years, appears with the LAUDA brand as a company that operates around the world. As a Town Councillor and as Deputy Mayor, he also took responsibility for local administration and society. As Chairman of the largest sports club, ETSV Lauda, Dr Rudolf Wobser gave some of his time and energy to volunteering in sport.

In the context of an official ceremony with the family, the LAUDA partners, a few associates, the LAUDA management and other guests, a commemorative plaque on the building at Pfarrstraße 16 in Lauda-Königshofen – the first head office of the Lauda company – was ceremoniously unveiled on 21st January.
